Final Reflection

Learning in a cosy classroom for these past twelve weeks with the extremely-dedicated Ms Goh and interesting classmates has been absolutely rewarding. I appreciate their useful comments and will definitely put them to good use.

I have become more self-conscious and sensitive to people’s facial expressions, gestures and non-verbal cues while communicating. I hope I can portray my confidence and sincerity, which all remain to be polished, to people in various future circumstances.

The 7Cs taught have become entrenched in my academic writing, as I find myself focusing on these areas during self and peer editing. The weekly blogging has allowed us to express our thoughts critically while observing the 7Cs and appropriateness in commenting on other posts.

However, instead of scheduling it in a time when everyone is busy with their reports, I feel that more about job resume and application letter can be taught. They are important to most individuals, because employers may make decisions based on applicants’ resumes, without a need for photographs. It would be good if everyone gets a chance to experience being interviewed too.

Doing the survey research report has been extremely humbling and emotionally-straining but has trained my organizational and conflict-solving skills. I would like to thank Beatrice and Kent for their great effort, tolerance and assistance in making me realise the importance of being an efficient team player.

The long hours spent doing seemingly-mundane work have brought bountiful benefits that have yet to be fully explored…
All the best to everyone!

  1. Hello Sok Huang,

Taking this module has also made me more aware of people's expressions and gestures during communication. The 7 Cs definitely come into play during the weekly blogging for this module and that has helped me to write better essays, reports, emails and letters.

I agree with you that perhaps more time should allocated to us for writing the job application letter and resume so we can improve it further. Also, doing the project did allow me to learn to become a more efficient team player.

All the best for your exams!!!

  3. Hello Sok Huang,

I still remember you were among the first few classmates I got to know during the first session of ES2007S. My first impression of you was definitely a positive one, for you were so friendly and sociable! =) True to my observation, when I get to know you better through the twelve weeks, you are indeed a sweet and pleasant lady. =)

I do agree with you that ES2007S have brought bountiful benefits that have yet to be fully explored… This is because communication skills is something that one needs to constantly use and improve on. I truly hope all 19 of us will be able to put these valuable skills into good use in our lives.

Last but not least, all the best for your upcoming exams!! =)

    Regards,
    May Chen, Crystal.

  4. Hello all!

Haha don't know whether this comes too late, never mind if it's to be counted into the grading or not.

Thank you all for the lovely comments and of course, the interesting lessons that we all had. It has been a privilege to know you all and wish you all the best in everything that you do.

The driving force must come from the individual and you will be able to reap what you sow! Let's do keep in contact! Take care!

    With lots of love
